Roadrunner

Message from Mrs. Stamer

This week we had our Curriculum Nights for all grade levels as well as Parent/Principal Nights. It was so nice to see so many families here. Thank you for joining us.

As the year continues on, you will continue to get newsletters from the classroom teachers as well as from me. We will do our best to keep you informed on what is happening at Forest Road, but as always, if you have any wonders or questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

I realize after school family schedules don’t always work with evening school events, so for those of you who weren’t able to make it to one of the Principal/Parent nights, I am including a link to the slide presentation.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Principal/Parent Night Presentation

Mr. Ontiveros

Message from Mr. Ontiveros

Happy Friday Forest Road Families

Thank you for coming out to support our students during our curriculum nights this past Tuesday and Wednesday.  During our principal/parent presentation we touched on the value of teamwork and there was certainly evidence of that collaborative effort this week.

In a spotlight on SEL, I’m passing along an idea that was shared with me for a virtual calm room. A virtual calm room can be set up with a single page word document or sheet (Google Doc, Word, Google Sheet, etc.) Desired category headings can be created (Animals, Games, Mindfulness, etc.) with links to online pages or videos designed to create a calming effect. Using an image with the link can add to visual appeal. The page can then be added to a phone, tablet, or laptop device when needed in the future.

Below are examples of ideas that can be added to a virtual calm room:

Hopefully this idea can help for a time when a break or a calm down is needed. As always, please feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions or thoughts.

Have a great weekend!

Athletics - CPCFRO

CPCFRO Athletics is an organization that operates as a Non-For-Profit within LaGrange School District 102.  We organize and manage basketball and volleyball leagues for the district's 5th and 6th grade boys and girls.  Our program introduces the basic fundamental skill sets needed to transition to competitive leagues that start in Junior High.  In addition to the physical skill sets, CPCFRO Athletics promotes good sportsmanship and team building.

This league is an inclusive organization that provides an environment for any child that wants to learn the game.  The cost for each season is $40 per student.  The fall season runs from mid-Sept through mid-Nov and the winter season runs from mid-Jan through mid-Mar.  Each team will play 7-9 games depending on the number of teams and gym availability.  Coaches are always needed so please consider coaching your child this year!

All participants including coaches, referees, scorekeeper and hall monitors need to register online.  Please contact your school representative if you need assistance with registration.
