Message from Mr. Ontiveros

This week was an eventful one at Forest Road. Many former Roadrunners returned to their alma mater as members of the Park String Orchestra and Concert Band, performing live for our 4th through 6th graders. This was a great opportunity for our intermediate grades to see what lies ahead at the junior high.

Today Mr. Thomas, one of our 6th grade teachers, and I guest taught a social-emotional lesson for some of our 4th grade students. We were excited to see the conversation and collaboration that took place along with the moments of reflection.

If you’re leaving for the upcoming week, travel safe and enjoy the time away. If you’re staying local, I hope it’s a chance to relax and revive.

Happy Spring Break Roadrunner families!

Talent Show - Thank you from the PTO!

The Forest Road PTO would like to thank all student performers and their families for taking the time to practice and make this show possible and fabulous!

A special thank you to the volunteers who made this event spectacular, specifically Matt Dahl (sound equipment and management) and Scott Elwess (emcee coordinator/comedic relief).

Lastly, this show would not be possible without the flexibility and assistance from the Forest Road staff: Mrs. Stamer, maintenance staff, technology staff, and Mr. Tise’s performance expertise and equipment.

Multicultural Night & Spring Book Fair

You are invited to join us in celebrating the many cultures that make up the Forest Road School Community!

On Thursday, April 18 from 6:00p-7:30pm we will have a wonderful evening learning about and sharing different cultures.  We will also have performances from different organizations and a variety of ethnic foods to sample!

We need as many families as possible who would be willing to set up a display table to represent their country of origin or culture. Come share what makes your ethnicity or culture interesting and unique!  Also, feel free to sign up for a country that has already been chosen - it will be lovely to see how families celebrate the same culture differently!

Not sure what to display? Some samples of items that have been displayed in the past: food/candy, recipes, statues, dolls, currency, clothing, music, games, art, postcards, books, jewelry, and pottery.  This is your display, you can be as creative as you’d like!

Please go to Multicultural Night to sign-up to host a table and for more information about this exciting event!

Any questions?  Email Karine Otten at karineotten@gmail.com.  Looking forward to this exciting event!
