Roadrunner

Message from Mrs. Stamer

Wow!  We had a jam-packed, fun-filled week this week. We had our first buddies meeting, our connections students went on their first field trip (thank you Mr. Bothwell), our Halloween parade, and first grade celebrated 50’s day.

Thank you so much to all the parent volunteers and staff for making all of these activities possible. Of course we always have fun day to day at Forest Road, but the extra activities always bring extra smiles and fun to our days.

50's DAY!

Message from Mr. Ontiveros

Happy November Roadrunner Families,

While Tuesday's weather felt more like the first day of winter, it did not stop our Halloween celebrations at Forest Road. Students and staff continued on as planned with our annual costume parade, then followed with classroom parties. Thank you to all the families and friends who braved the wind and snow by gathering around the surrounding blocks to get a glimpse of our participants. A special thank you to our Roadrunner parents who volunteered to lead the classroom parties.

November is a month where my family and I take moments to reflect on what we’re thankful for. A quick at-home activity can be to create a “thankful tree”. One example of a construction paper version is to have your child trace their hand on brown paper to be used as the tree. Next, draw and cut blank leaves on red, orange, and yellow paper. Then either daily or weekly, write something to be thankful for on a leaf and paste it to the tree.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Important: Arrival & Dismissal

There have been many reminders sent and directions regarding parking on Homestead for drop off and pick up. Unfortunately, many are still using the street to park, drop off and pick up. This is causing unsafe situations for our children when they are walking to school. You may have noticed police presence this week. They were here to help enforce what has been sent out in newsletters. There will be continued presence next week and new barricades with signs notifying you that you may not use the street for parking, drop off or pick up during arrival and dismissal.

Families are encouraged to use the carline for drop off and pick up. There are staff members there to greet students and there is supervision for students while they walk to the blacktop.

Please follow the directions provided in this newsletter for safe drop off and pick up during arrival and dismissal.
