Welcome to La Grange D102!
Dr. Chris Covino began serving as superintendent of La Grange School district 102 in July 2023. He has more than 25 years of experience in education. Before joining District 102, he spent three years as the Assistant Superintendent for Hinsdale District 86, leading the Curriculum and Instruction Department. He served as the Principal for Argo High School for four years and was the Assistant Principal for Curriculum at York High School for five years. As a school and District administrator, Dr. Covino has focused his attention on creating academic and extracurricular opportunities for students. He is proud of his accomplishments engendering collaborative relationships between and among staff, clearly communicating with families, and being available and approachable and eager to listen.
Before becoming an administrator, Dr. Covino was the Division Chair for Language Arts at West Chicago High School and an English Teacher at Neuqua Valley High School. As a teacher he focused on creating high standards matched only by high levels of support. His classrooms were marked by thoughtful conversation, focused collaboration and laughter.
Dr. Covino earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois - Chicago, a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Illinois - Chicago, a Masters of Science degree in School Administration from Benedictine University and his Doctorate degree from Aurora University.
