Goal 2: Equity: Access, Opportunity, and Belonging
The district will commit to fostering a culture of inclusivity that understands, respects, and embraces individual differences by providing students of all cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives an educational environment and resources to maximize their academic, social, and emotional development.
Objective 1
Close the achievement gap and provide more opportunities for all students, including students of diverse cultures and backgrounds. (Achievement Gap Definition: The persistent difference in academic performance between different ethnic, racial, and diverse language groups, income levels, and special student groups).
Strategy 1 - Focus equitable resources on eliminating the achievement gap between students of color, students with disabilities and low income students and their peers.
Strategy 2 - Renew the D102 MTSS model with a focus on consistent identification and communication procedures.
Strategy 3 - Investigate, create and implement additional extra curricular opportunities (e.g. after school clubs, intramurals).
Objective 2
Objective 2 - Implement culturally responsive social-emotional learning practices, in order to improve student behavior and enhance a culture of belonging.
Strategy 1 - Provide all staff members ongoing training and learning opportunities in the areas of Equity, Restorative Practices and Trauma Informed Practices
Strategy 2 -Provide families and community members ongoing learning opportunities in the areas of Equity, Diversity And Belonging
Strategy 3 - Develop and disseminate age-appropriate, common behavior expectations and disciplinary consequences rooted in culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices
