Stepping into the role of Director of Equity and Student Services at LaGrange District 102 is an immense privilege, resonating deeply with my lifelong commitment to fostering inclusivity and opportunity in education. With over two decades of experience as an educational leader, including three years dedicated to guiding initiatives to enhance educator diversity as a Director in the Evanston/Skokie School District, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to this pivotal position. My primary aim is to ensure that every student in our district receives fair and equitable learning experiences, firmly grounded in the principles of equity-focused and identity-relevant instruction. I am unwaveringly committed to cultivating an educational environment where each student can thrive, arming them with the tools to shape futures rich with choice and potential.

Beyond the realm of academic achievement, my aspirations extend to nurturing a culture of belonging and empowerment for all students. Through innovative approaches, steadfast advocacy, and compassionate leadership, I am driven to enact tangible progress toward a more inclusive and equitable educational landscape. My familial ties as the eldest among seven siblings and as an aunt to eleven nieces and nephews across various cities serve as a wellspring of inspiration, reminding me of the importance of fostering supportive relationships. Additionally, the joy I derive from caring for Coco, my beloved Shih-Tsu Maltese rescue from New Orleans, Louisiana, underscores the significance of nurturing and supporting those around me.

Engaging in community service initiatives, such as volunteering with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and serving on the Boards of Directors for Pilot Light Chicago and Black Women Education Leaders, deeply enriches my perspective and reaffirms my steadfast commitment to social justice and equity. As I embark on this new chapter as Director of Equity and Student Services, I am profoundly humbled by the opportunity to effect meaningful change and ensure that every student in LaGrange District 102 has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
